Abstract:
The research paper aimed to investigate the influence of record management program on improving health care service delivery in health centers in Lusaka district. The Specific Objectives where to find out the knowledge levels of registry staff in health centers in Lusaka district, to establish the relationship between health records keeping and service delivery; and to establish the challenges affecting the execution of records management program in health centers in Lusaka district. The ministry of health in its 2016 report on primary health care identified the following as affecting health care delivery poor facility, diagnostic procedure, patients’ inability to explain or respond correctly to diagnosis and this is perpetuated by poor lack of patients’ health history and track record. This necessitated the research in order to ascertain if records management program was being adhered to improve health care service delivery. The research took a quantitative approach and a correlational research design was used numerical figures were counted based on the controlled opinions of the respondents. The findings clearly identifies record keeping has a key health Centre administrative resource for improve health care delivery.
