Designing a System that Keeps track of Available Boarding Houses for UNZA Students

Abstract

Technology development has important roles in human life. The internet is one component of technology which connects millions of computers using protocols for sharing information, and internet is also used to connect two or more people online. In this digital world, internet has become an important and effective means of communication throughout the world and many fields are using it effective. Web-based applications have been widely implemented and proven to provide benefits to the communities. Therefore, the use of internet has now become the means of learning and sharing information that is useful for Community Service Providers (CSP) and Boarding Service Users’ (BSU) who aim to make it easier for someone to get practical and efficient information about boarding in that particular area. Boarding is a place for providers of lodging services or temporary residence consisting of several rooms and each room has several facilities offered and also has a price determined by the owner of the boarding house while the length of time of the rental is determined by the tenant. The study was aiming at designing a Web-Based System that is used for helping of finding boarding houses for the University of Zambia students in a simple way. The system's main goal is to keep track of available boarding houses for UNZA students. Additionally, this system also help to handle various problems that the Students, Parents and Boarding House Owners (BHOs) encounters. This system has eliminated problems by providing ease way of finding the boarding house. This implies that a system computerized the business of searching for boarding houses. A Boarding House Management System grants more opportunities with regards to their transaction such as an increase of their popularity. By securing fast and efficient tracking of landlord’s records, the students are no longer face a very time-consuming process. Since a system keeps tracks of Landlord records which contains various details about the Landlords, these records are used for future references. This implies that a system designed enable automatically keeps track of available boarding houses for UNZA students, which some users looking for a Boarding House can find details such as contact details and rent-prices within the system. Additionally, students can now able to leave reviews of boarding houses that they have stayed in previously.
