A Web - Based Loan Management and Inquiry System

Abstract

This study focused at designing an web-based Loan Management and Inquiry System (LMIS), which would assist the University of Zambia Lecturer and Researchers’ Union Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations (SACCO) to manage its financial services and keep records of its clients, which can be accessed wherever and whenever needed. The Loan Management and Inquiry System developed during the study, stores records in a web database and allows online update of the web application. An investigation was carried out to establish how the manual system functions regarding the problems at hand in addition to the way forward. To help in investigation, the interview and observation were used in fact finding. The system design used MongoDB which is a document-based non-relational database management system it was implemented using NODE.JS which is framework for JavaScript programming language. The Loan Management and Inquiry System helps users (loans officers) to store, read, update, modify and delete loan data.
