dc.description.abstract The main objective of this study was to investigate the employee management system used at the University of Zambia. Specifically, the study opts to answer the questions; What online employee log book design would work well for the University of Zambia? What cost effective technologies are available to create an Employee Online Attendance Log Book? Interviews were conducted among the key managers or administrators and interview guides were used to obtain data from administrators. The study targeted four personnel. The results showed that the University of Zambia had no employee management system in use. The results also indicated that generally the university does not keep track of the time their employees login and log out. It is important that every institution like the university of Zambia comes up with an employee log book to keep track of the employees because this has massive potential to boost the work culture in a positive way and hence it will be easy for the institution to identify hard working individuals easily. The study recommended It was important for every large institution like the University of Zambia to ensure by all means to have an employee login system, especially an electronic one, because the world keeps evolving with an emergency of information communication and technology. en_US
