In this study, we investigate the status of  computer used for teaching and learning  Computer Studies. The main aim of the  study is to assess the status of computer  laboratories used for teaching and learning  Computer Studies in Lusaka’s Urban Public  Schools. In addition, the study sought to  identify the available ICT facilities and  equipment available for use in the computer  laboratories, assess the condition in which  they are, investigate challenges teachers face  and further explores measures that can put in  place to enhance the teaching and learning  of Computer Studies. The analysis shows  that for all the factors considered, the mean  satisfaction scores are lower than the mean  importance scores. This implies that the  facilities in the computer laboratory should  be upgraded for items that have been given  low satisfaction scores. The results and the  responds recorded are important to the  management of the labs in terms of planning  and carrying out immediate improvement to  the facilities provided in order to facilitate  teaching and learning in the computer  laboratories.

The internet has been a platform for individuals, groups of people and companies to interact with  One another through the social media. The social media has truly aided interaction and even other  Business services through social networks, forums, blogs, etc. Forums are now being used as  Tools/platforms to create discussions, connect to people mostly of similar interests and as Sources  of relevant information. This work intends to make use of forums as tools in helping prospective  university students at the UNZA to make the right decisions about their choice of career, choice  of environment, etc. Based on an in-depth review of some relevant literatures, some key  requirements have been considered in the development of a suitable web application. This online  forum will be developed for students to cater for some of their needs and solve some of the issues  they face with their choice of career, their course of study, the accessibility of relevant information  about the institution, etc.

Many educational institutions are nowadays integrating the traditional face to face instruction  methods with the online which can be synchronous and/or asynchronous. Synchronous learning  means that although you will be learning from a distance, you will virtually attend class sessions  each week, at the same time as you’re the instructor and classmates while asynchronous learning  is a general term used to describe forms of education, instruction, and learning that do not occur  in the same place or at the same time. It uses resources that facilitate information sharing outside  the constraints of time and place among a network of people. LMSs are standardized platforms  that are selected from broad categories and used in education institutions to support both  synchronous and asynchronous methods of teaching and learning. Selecting the best LMS can be  determined and directed by factors such as the type of usage, the type of users, functionality of the  system, the needs of the system users and financial resources available for the system, just to  highlight the main ones. However usability and functionality are key in the selection process. This  study employed document and system analysis to uncover the affordances available of popular  free and open source LMSs; Atutor, Chamilo, Sakai Moodle and Canvas. The results showed that  there are teaching and learning features that can be considered as integral and must have when  choosing an LMS. The results also showed that each of the five LMSs does have feature that may  and/or may not be available on the other four LMS. The results showed further that the LMSs may  and/or may not support a particular feature using external plugins and third party software. This  study made use of the System Usability Scale (SUS) to determine the student’s usability evaluation  of Moodle at the University of Zambia. An experiment was set up where participants were required  to perform tasks on Moodle after it was installed and set up on a Cloud server, after which each of  the participants responded to the SUS in Appendix C which helped to understand the  undergraduate student’s usability evaluation of Moodle LMS.

The face is one the  easiest ways of distinguishing  the  individual identity of each  Facial  recognition system is  a personal identification system  that  uses personal characteristics  of the  individual to identify the person’s identity. Human face recognition procedure basically consists  of two  phases, namely face detection, where  this process  takes place very rapidly  in humans,  except  under conditions where the object is  located at a  short distance away, the  next is the  introduction, which recognizes a face as individuals. Stage is then replicated and developed as a  model for facial image recognition (face recognition) is  one of the much-studied biometrics  technology and developed by experts.
